Introduction of Hainan International Economic Cooperation & Exchange Association

Hainan International Economic Cooperation & Exchange Association (hereinafter referred to as HIECEA) is an independent association corporation established on October 20, 2000. It is a private and self-disciplined group for economic cooperation and exchange, which composed of enterprises, business organizations, experts, scholars, celebrities, and social groups in business and trade circle in Hainan. HIECEA had conducted restructuring in April, 2019, to further improve its culture and operation environment, and promote its prestige and member quality.

I  Management

President: Mr. KE Yuanzhi, a well-known businessman from Fujian Province.

Senior Executives and members: HIECEA has adopted strict recruitment standards and regulations for its members and senior executives after restructuring. the positions of the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee and the General Secretary are in vacancy for the moment. It will select its new senior executives and update the lists before November, 2021.

II  Principles

Increase understanding by exchange, deepen friendship by trust, build platform by vision, promote development by service.

III  Members

HIECEA now has 21 individual/organization members in the areas of trade, investment, real estate, tourism, artwork auction, and supply chain, and 11 of them are listed companies.

IV  Structure

General Assembly serves as the highest authority of HIECEA, with the Council and Supervisory Committee as two standing departments. The Council is composed of president, honorary president, standing president, vice president, general secretary, and standing directors. Supervisory Committee is composed of chairman, vice chairman, and supervisors. The functional departments include International Exchange and Cooperation Department, Project Investment Department, Secretariat, and Legal Affairs Office, with businesses covering the following areas:

1. Establish extensive partnership with domestic and foreign economic organizations, social groups, private organizations, experts, scholars, celebrities. Introduce foreign capital, as well as import and export  technologies and talents.

2. Organize various types of international exchange meetings, seminars, lectures, and exhibitions for economic and cultural cooperation, to constantly enhance the exchange and cooperation between China and Southeast Asian Countries.

3. Assist its individual and organization members to deal with issues related to language, information, consultancy, legal affairs, and etc. , in their overseas investment.

4. Start HIECEA publications to irregularly publish its important activities, business and trade updates, economic exchange information, scientific research results, related extracts, and etc.

5. Organize its members to conduct foreign business visits and attend economic seminars and academic discussions. Promote new policies of Hainan province and invite foreign businesses to invest in Hainan.

V  Activities

1. HIECEA had successfully hold the 1^st International Sand Sculpture Art Exhibition in Haikou city, Hainan province from November, 2003 to March, 2004, with attendance of over 10 sand sculpture artists from America, Russia, Japan, and etc. The exhibition which had been highly recognized by Hainan provincial leaders and Haikou municipal leaders, had further improved Hainan’s international image.

2. HIECEA had co-organized or attended several activities such as business seminars and forums on Hainan’s development hold by China (Hainan) Institute for Reform and Development from 2003 to 2005, and provided various advice and suggestion on Hainan’s economic and cultural construction which had been adopted by related departments in Hainan.

3. HIECEA had accumulatively co-organized or attended 37 various exhibitions, and organized 15 foreign business visits.
